Pioneer Theatre Company has revealed its 2025-2065 season lineup, which offers a diverse mix of Utah and world premiere musicals, contemporary plays, and the return of a much-requested farce. PTC will kick off 2026 with Ten Brave Seconds, a world premiere musical from Will Van Dyke—an in-demand composer and musical director both on and off Broadway, and PTC alum Jeff Talbott, whom PTC audiences will know from his work as playwright (The Messenger) and as an actor (The Lehman Trilogy). The heartwarming coming-of-age/coming-out story will be presented January 30-February 14, 2026 at Simmons Pioneer Memorial Theatre.
A world premiere for fuzzy, a new musical with a book and lyrics by Jeff Talbott and music and lyrics by Will Van Dyke, will make its world premiere at Massachusetts' Barrington Stage in the company's newly announced 2025 season. Ellie Heyman will direct the title on the St. Germain Stage, with performances running July 8-27. Opening night will be July 12.
The theatre is keeping details about the new work to a minimum, sharing in press notes that the show is "a little musical about all the big things—how we take care of each other and, in doing so, take care of ourselves, even if you are just a little fuzzy puppet."
A quartet of behind-the-scenes Broadway veterans started Joy Machine Records to support developing shows and voices.
